The Harrowing of Hell

In the spring of 2019, Collectio Musicorum joined up with the American Theatre of Actors to produce The Harrowing of Hell.  This is a short play, written in Middle English, that dramatizes the rescue of all the souls in Hell by Jesus right after the Crucifixion.  Although it survives in four medieval manuscripts and was published (in Middle English) in the 19th century, it was never performed in the United States.  A review of the production may be found here:  https://www.rgmagazine.com/the-harrowing-of-hell-a-theatre-review-by-michael-elias/

The production has been nominated for an Innovative Theatre Award, and further details about that may be found here:  https://nyitawards.blogspot.com/2019/08/the-harrowing-of-hell.html.  The award ceremony is September 16th.  Keep your fingers crossed!
